Biko Biolabs focuses on secure, self-sufficient, sustainable solutions to universal basic needs: food, energy, medicine and materials. The diversity, size, scale, physical and economic isolation of small, remote, and marginalized communities uniquely calls for decentralized, low capital technologies using cheap, locally available inputs.
There is no input cheaper and more local than waste, and biology often requires little more than some water, light and time to transform a seed in your back yard into a towering tree.
